Worlds Away LLC was founded in Memphis, Tennessee in 1992. Starting out as an import company that revitalized the “painted tole” look that was so popular in the 1980’s, Worlds Away soon began to push its design boundaries with additions in handcrafted lighting and hand painted metal furniture.

Soon we were employing a distinctive mix including mirrored pieces, statement lighting, occasional furniture, and unique accessories. Our collection now incorporates rich textiles, colored lacquer, lucite, grass cloth, and more to put a modern twist on seamless style. A resurgence of the Hollywood Regency style, as well as Mid-Century modern design, inspired us to create more transitional pieces that could relate to today’s interiors and still hint at the past.
