The Tang Dynasty Medium Blue Horse is a navy blue terracotta horse sculpture with athletic lines. Historically, a sculpture like this would be found in tombs, as it was specially designed to be buried with the deceased to accompany them to “the other side.” The greater the number of horses found, the wealthier the person. The ceramic sculpture is positioned on a clay-colored base, as a museum piece would be.
