Currey & Co. Whirling Dervish Table Lamp 6000-0832
With its jewel-like body, the Whirling Dervish Table Lamp implies a sense of movement, though the clear glass is resolutely still. Implying the motion a whirling top would make, the clear lamp is grounded with a thick black vase and a very tall shade. The black metal base on the console lamp, designed by Clarence Mallari, is perfectly in sync with the black trim on the off-white linen shade. Also echoing the symmetry is how the black hardware forms a ring where it fastens the glass bauble in place.
